Web development in Wheatland, WY
I'm Philip Matthews. I've been building websites and software since 2001, and I do it from an office at 712 9th St in Wheatland — not from a template farm three states away that generated a page for your town.

What I build
Websites
Fast, mobile-friendly sites that load in well under a second and read properly on a phone. Built to be found, and built so you can actually get a hold of the person who made it.
WordPress
New builds, rescues, migrations, and ongoing maintenance. If your current site is slow, broken, throwing security warnings, or nobody knows who hosts it anymore — that's a normal Tuesday for me.
Applications & AI
Custom software when a website isn't enough: dashboards, internal tools, integrations, and AI systems that automate the work eating your week.
Managed hosting
I run my own servers, so hosting isn't a reseller account I forward your problem to. HTTPS, backups, updates, and a real person when something breaks.
Local work
Sites I currently host and maintain in and around Platte County:
- Platte County Public Library WordPress maintenance and support
- Windy Peaks Brewery & Steakhouse Hosting and site maintenance
More of the work — 25 years of it, going back to my first site in 2001 — is on the portfolio page.
You might already know this address
712 9th St was The Print Shop. We bought it in 2023 and closed it in early 2025 — but I kept the space, and it's still where I work every day. If you had business cards, forms, or signs made in Wheatland in those years, there's a good chance we've already met.
The websites aren't the new thing, though — they're the original one. I've been building them since 2001. The print shop was the detour, not the career change, and it lasted two years against twenty-five.
So: same address, same person, back to the trade I've had the whole time. And the part that made the print shop work still applies — you know who did the work, and you know where to find me if something's wrong.
One thing to note: the office is by appointment only. I'm often out at a client's or heads-down on a build, and the door stays locked either way — so call or email first and we'll set a time. Don't drive over on spec.
Why local actually matters here
Search "web developer Wheatland WY" and most of what comes back is a national agency that auto-generated a page with your town's name dropped into it. They have no office here, no phone number you can call twice, and no idea who you are.
What you get working with someone in town: I can sit down with you face to face when it helps — by appointment. I answer the phone at a 307 number. If your site goes down on a Saturday, you're not opening a support ticket in a queue — you're texting the person who built it. And because I own the hosting, I'm not forwarding your outage to a company that has never heard of you.
The flip side is that being local doesn't mean small-time. I've spent the last several years building AI systems and production software for clients well outside Wyoming. You get that depth on a Wheatland budget and a Wheatland handshake.
Service area
In person (by appointment): Wheatland, Chugwater, Glendo, Guernsey, and Hartville — all of Platte County — plus Cheyenne, Casper, Douglas, and Torrington when it's worth the drive.
Remote: anywhere in the United States. Plenty of my work never required being in the same room.
